  17. DR Multiuser DOS is compatible with the Iomega Bernoulli Drive. The
  18. following describes what hardware and software have been tested. 
  19. Compatibility is not assured with other Bernoulli drive models or
  20. versions of device drivers.

  23. Hardware:  Bernoulli Transportable Drive + 90 meg cartridges
  24.            Iomega PC2B/50 Host Adapter
  25.            386/33 DX, standard VGA, IDE fixed drive, 1.2 and 1.44
  26.            floppy drives

  28. Software:  DR Multiuser DOS, ver 5.1
  29.            Iomega DOS OAD Utilities ver 1.01           
  30.            Iomega RCD Utilities ver 7.02

  33. Results of compatibility testing:

  35. 1.   DR Mulituser DOS recognizes the 90 meg Bernoulli drive when
  36.      initiated as a secondary drive using the Iomega device driver
  37.      DOSOAD.SYS.
  38.  
  39. 2.   The Bernoulli OAD Install program runs under Multiuser DOS.
  40.      Any existing CONFIG.SYS file is modified to load the DOSOAD
  41.      drivers.  The DEVICE= commands which load these drivers must
  42.      be copied to the DR Multiuser DOS file CCONFIG.SYS in order
  43.      for the Bernoulli drive to initiate under Multiuser DOS.

  45. 2.   The Iomega device driver RCD.SYS ver 7.02 is NOT compatible
  46.      with DR Multiuser DOS.  Upgrade to the OAD driver.
  47.  
  48. 2.   For smaller Bernoulli drives, the RCD drivers ver 4.x are
  49.      compatible with Multiuser DOS.
  50.  
  51. 3.   Mulituser DOS cannot be loaded on the bootable Bernoulli
  52.      drive.

  54. 4.   Care should be taken in selecting the base port address for
  55.      the Iomega Host Adapter.  This address should not conflict
  56.      with any other devices such as a multiport card or network
  57.      card.
  58.  
  59. 5.   Jumpers on the PC2B/50 Host Adapter should be set to disable
  60.      ROM addressing.  Disabling ROM addressing will provide more
  61.      usable application memory and avoid possible conflict with
  62.      network cards.

  64. 6.   Host Adapter PC2B/50 uses hardware address IRQ 5 by default.
  65.      This is the same IRQ assigned to LPT2 for a 2nd parallel
  66.      printer port.  The only alternate IRQ setting for the PC2B/50
  67.      is IRQ 7, which is normally assigned to LPT1.

  69.      To avoid address conflicts, it is recommended to keep the
  70.      setting of IRQ 5 and not install any LPT2 port on the
  71.      Multiuser DOS system.

  73.      If a network card is set to IRQ 5 it's hardware address must
  74.      be changed to avoid conflict.
